We wanted to give you a grown-up filler for your Äggs this year. Swedish sweets and chocolates are delicious, but as sunset creeps past 8pm, is there any better way to celebrate the return of the long evenings than a sundown G&T?
The search began for a perfect gin partner, and with it, the gruelling task - we salute you, Jess! - of sampling a lot of gin. But when we met Dylan at 58 Gin under the railway arches in Haggerston and heard about their mission to make craft spirits in a sustainable way, we knew we were on to something.
And then we tried 58’s award-winning English Berry Gin, made from foraged sloe berries, with Fevertree’s Elderflower Tonic, and it tasted like spring in a glass: red fruits, fresh fruit, orange blossom and raspberry, with a lovely zing of citrus and elderflower. All the flavours of British spring, packed neatly into a handsome Swedish Ägg.
